Sophie has advised on some of the UK's most significant sustainability initiatives, most notably advising Exchange for Change on the forthcoming UK Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) for single-use drinks containers. She has also designed and implemented RPC's bespoke ESG Tracker, a tool that enables businesses to proactively monitor and respond to evolving ESG regulatory requirements. She was shortlisted for Rising Start of the Year at the Legal 500 ESG Awards 2026.

With in-house experience at global corporations like Google and Frasers Group and an LLM in Environmental Law and Policy at UCL, Sophie brings unique commercial and technical insight to her work and practice. She is frequently sought after by industry bodies, British media and leading organisations, and helps ensure RPC and its clients – including FTSE 100 companies – remain on top of the latest environmental law developments.

I am naturally a 'people person' and enjoy building long-term relationships. I enjoy connecting clients with industry peers and facilitating sector-focused collaboration – in the fast-moving and largely unchartered world of ESG, this has never been more important! 

For our clients, ESG and environmental matters are typically cross-border so I always view them through an international lense. Through the firm's international networks, we help clients to understand how their UK legal obligations fit into the broader patchwork of global ESG legal requirements and to navigate divergent rules and standards.

• Co-led 'ESG Evolve', RPC's industry-first whitepaper and practical ESG toolkit, endorsed by the United Nations Foundation, bringing together ESG insight from GCs, Heads of Legal and sustainability leaders from across the consumer brands and retail sector.
