RPC builds on New York launch, welcoming Partner hire Eric Wahrburg

Global law firm RPC has appointed insurance coverage specialist Eric Wahrburg as a Partner in New York, further building the firm’s US presence following its October launch.

Eric Wahrburg has joined global law firm RPC as a Partner in its New York office. An experienced insurance coverage specialist, with particular depth in high-exposure complex matters related to D&O, professional practices and casualty business, Eric advises on first- and third-party coverage disputes and litigation.

Eric joins Scott Schechter, who opened RPC’s New York office in October – a reflection of growing client demand for joined-up, cross-border advice on high-value, multi-jurisdictional claims. Together they’ll serve insurance clients across the US and RPC’s international insurance platform, integrating with colleagues in the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong to operate as one global team.

Eric is also an experienced appellate practitioner and has argued successfully before the New York State appellate courts on multiple occasions. In 2026, he was recognised in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for Insurance Law.

Eric joins from Ropers Majeski. His appointment follows a steady stream of insurance Partner hires for RPC this year, including Scott Schechter, alongside market-leading financial lines and D&O specialist Tom Mungovan in London, and recognised cyber specialists Ed Lewis and Sumyutha Sivamani in London and Singapore.
