RPC appoints leading insurance Partner Scott Schechter to launch New York presence

International law firm RPC has appointed insurance coverage specialist Scott Schechter as a Partner in New York, marking a significant step in the firm's international insurance growth.

Scott’s arrival bolsters RPC's ability to support clients on complex claims with US exposures – particularly across financial lines and cyber – and will underpin the development of a dedicated New York-based insurance team. This investment strengthens RPC's international insurance platform, integrating with colleagues in the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong to operate as one global team.

The addition of Scott and the New York office reflect growing client demand for joined-up, cross border advice on high-value, multi-jurisdictional claims, and further enhances RPC's established international insurance capability. It follows the recent hire of market-leading financial lines and D&O specialist Tom Mungovan in London, and recognised cyber specialists Ed Lewis and Sumyutha Sivamani in London and Singapore. 

As well as Scott's vast expertise in the insurance sector, his genuine, client-led approach reflects RPC's inclusive, people centred and collaborative culture.
