"I strive to understand the business philosophy and operations in question and come up with commercial and pragmatic solutions"
"With the majority of my clients having international operations, many of the disputes I advise on involve foreign counterparts or goods/services being supplied in another jurisdiction. As such I have significant experience of working with lawyers and other professionals in jurisdictions outside of Singapore.
On any matter, I strive to understand the business philosophy and operations in question and come up with commercial and pragmatic solutions to avoid and overcome disputes as quickly as possible.
Clients value my ability to distil complex legal concepts and communicate them clearly. I take time to understand my clients and their businesses and what motivates them personally. By understanding their mindset and interests, I can explain the situation in question in their terms."
Hariz is based in Singapore and practices out of Premier Law LLC.
Hariz's recent work highlights:
Acted for the liquidators of a shipping company against three foreign banks, who were not creditors of the company, but sought to claim security over a vessel of the company by virtue of filing an admiralty claim against the vessel.
Acted for a former director of a company in liquidation to defend a claim for return of the investment sum of the former shareholder on the basis that a convertible loan was entered into instead and for total failure of consideration.
Represented a de facto director-shareholder in successfully claiming for the return of shares from the defendant nominee, account on wilful default basis and damages for breach of fiduciary duties.
