The Nordic region combines highly developed economies with a strong international outlook. Recognised for innovation, digitalisation and sustainability, this market is home to leading businesses across technology, financial services, insurance, health and medical, consumer goods and retail. Strong investment and trading relationships with the UK, alongside significant flows of capital and business across Europe and internationally, make the Nordics an important market for both our UK and global clients.
Innovation is a particular feature of the region. From technology, digital platforms and gaming to fintech, media and the transition to more sustainable business models, Nordic companies are frequently at the forefront of changing industries. Alongside these growth areas sit sophisticated and well-established insurance, financial services, consumer and professional services markets. We support clients on the legal issues that accompany international growth and change – including M&A and investment, competition law, commercial arrangements, IP, data and cyber, employment, regulatory matters and complex disputes.
Our Nordic proposition is built around strong relationships with leading independent firms across the region. Rather than applying a single-firm or one-size-fits-all approach, we select the local specialists best suited to the jurisdiction, sector and matter. From our UK and Asia hubs, we bring together these relationships with RPC’s own sector and subject-matter expertise, coordinating teams across jurisdictions and providing clients with a consistent point of contact.
The relationship works in both directions. We support UK and international clients investing, trading or managing risk across the Nordics, while also working closely with Nordic firms and their clients on matters involving the UK and other international markets. We have built strong relationships with Nordic clients and support them in the UK, for example RPC is the honorary solicitor to the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in the UK. Our longstanding relationships and experience of working together mean we can operate as an integrated team – combining local market knowledge with specialist expertise to deliver practical, commercially focused advice wherever it is needed.
