RPC's Chair of International Arbitration Jonathan Wood appointed to Deputy Prime Minister's English Law Promotion Panel
Jonathan Wood, Chair of International Arbitration at RPC, has been appointed to the English Law Promotion Panel, a new group of legal and business leaders established to future-proof the UK legal sector.
Jonathan, who chairs the Board of the London Chamber of Arbitration and Mediation (LCAM) and is former President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, joins a 20-member panel tasked with developing a strategy to promote English law internationally.
The Lord Chancellor and Deputy Prime Minister, Rt Hon David Lammy, today convened the panel's first meeting to reinforce the UK's position as a leading global centre for legal services.
Ahead of the meeting, the Lord Chancellor said: "Today I am bringing together legal and business leaders to make sure the UK remains the jurisdiction of choice and continues to champion the rule of law around the world."
Commenting on the news, Jonathan Wood said: "I am honoured to join the English Law Promotion Panel to help ensure English law remains the jurisdiction of choice for international commerce and dispute resolution. I look forward to working with the panel to promote English law globally."
