International law firm RPC has won Legal Services Provider of the Year at the Insurance Insider Honours 2026.

The award recognises a law firm delivering standout value and impact for clients through advice and representation across the (re)insurance sector.

The judges noted RPC "has established itself as a leading adviser in the insurance sector, delivering expert counsel on some of the market's most significant transactions, disputes and strategic challenges. Combining exceptional technical expertise with deep market knowledge and outstanding client service, the team has earned a reputation as a trusted partner."

James Mee, Partner and Head of Corporate Insurance, commented: "It is a tremendous honour to be named Legal Services Provider of the Year. This recognition reflects the trust our clients place in us, and the strength of a team that is genuinely embedded in the Lloyd's and wider (re)insurance market. This award is a testament to the commitment, expertise and collaborative approach the team brings to every matter."

Simon Laird, Partner and Global Head of Insurance at RPC, said: "I am incredibly proud of the team and this well-deserved recognition of the breadth and depth of our work across the insurance market. It is truly fantastic to see the strength of our wider insurance offering recognised, from our established claims expertise to the growing range of business and strategic advisory work we provide to our clients."

RPC is a leading adviser to the Lloyd’s and global (re)insurance markets, combining top-tier transactions, advisory and regulatory teams with a market-leading claims and coverage disputes practice. The firm supports (re)insurers, brokers, MGAs, management teams, and investors on all their legal needs – from strategically defining Lloyd's transactions and complex, multi-jurisdictional approvals, to the market's most technically demanding, high-stakes disputes.

Alongside RPC, Skyward Group was awarded M&A Transaction of the Year, for bringing together Skyward Speciality Insurance and Apollo, two organisations with complementary strengths, exceptional talent and deep speciality expertise, to create a leading provider of specialised insurance solutions across global speciality property and casualty markets.

James added: "Many congratulations to our client Skyward Group on this well-deserved recognition. Amongst a very strong shortlist, the judges recognised this is a 'standout deal', and no doubt the value of bringing two brilliant businesses together, and the strength of the Skyward and Apollo teams behind it."
