RPC retains 92% of qualifying trainees

International law firm RPC is set to retain 92% of its trainees due to qualify in September 2026.

In the UK, 16 of the 19 trainees have accepted newly qualified offers, marking 84.2% retention. In Hong Kong, the firm's retention figure is 100% again with both trainees accepting offers.

Eight of the newly qualified lawyers will join Disputes, with six in London and two in Hong Kong. Five will be joining Insurance, with two in London and three in Bristol, and five will join Corporate & Commercial, including four in London and one in Bristol.

It has been rewarding to watch them develop into confident lawyers, and we are delighted that so many will be continuing their careers with the firm. Their retention reflects both the strength of this cohort and the contribution they are already making across the business."

This year's retention rate continues to reflect RPC's long-term commitment to nurturing emerging talent, with trainees regularly seconded in-house to clients and to the firm's offices in Hong Kong and Singapore. In recognition of the firm's excellence, RPC was named Best Law Firm for Client Secondments at the Legal Cheek Awards 2025.
