RPC elects Simon Hart as its new Senior Partner
International law firm RPC has elected Simon Hart as its new Senior Partner for a three-year term by the firm's partnership. The role includes supporting the firm's Managing Partner and leadership team on partnership affairs and culture.
Simon will succeed outgoing Senior Partner Oliver Bray on 1 May 2026. Oliver, RPC's Partner and Technology, Media and Entertainment Sector Lead, is stepping down after completing two three-year terms as Senior Partner, the maximum allowed under RPC's partnership deed.
Commenting on the election, Managing Partner Antony Sassi said: "I'm delighted that Simon will be our next Senior Partner. He couldn't be better placed to empower our partnership and the whole firm, and I look forward to working with him. I would like to thank Olly on behalf of the entire partnership for his commitment and energy over the last six years. With his brilliant contributions, we are a stronger, more future-facing firm that we've ever been."
Entering his 14th year as a Partner at RPC, Simon is a highly experienced lawyer and an outstanding financial markets litigator. He is one of the main drivers of RPC's Band 1 ranking for Banking Litigation in Chambers and Partners. He will continue with his practice, leading the firm's Financial Services sector and Commercial and Banking Litigation team.
Reflecting on his appointment, Simon said: "I am really looking forward to supporting the Partnership and the wider firm as Senior Partner. For me, the role is about helping us to be the best partnership we can be, as a firm and, ultimately, for our clients. Much of the role is about listening and understanding the evolving needs of what fuels a successful partnership. As with clients, success is founded on fostering long-term trusted relationships. Alongside my new role, I will continue with my practice, representing the interests of our outstanding clients in litigation."
