RPC advises Bishop Street Underwriters on acquisition of Avid Insurance

International law firm RPC has advised Bishop Street Underwriters (Bishop Street), a RedBird Capital Partners portfolio company, on the completion of its acquisition of Avid Insurance, a London-based managing general agent.

Founded in 2006, Avid provides specialist insurance solutions across sectors including construction, social housing, and leasehold, with additional expertise in equine, motorsport, gadget, student contents, and travel insurance. Operating as a Lloyd’s coverholder and partnering with A-rated carriers, Avid applies data-driven underwriting to deliver tailored insurance solutions.

The acquisition extends Bishop Street’s UK presence and brings a wealth of specialist knowledge and a proven track record of underwriting across a range of sectors.

The RPC team involved Senior Associates Yexi Tran and Richard Wilson, Associates Hadrian Leung and Ed Warren, Tax Partner Ben Roberts, Regulatory Partner Matthew Griffith and Head of Corporate Insurance James Mee, with support from colleagues across the transactions and advisory practice.
