RPC advises Atrium and its management on sale to CRC Group

Published on 08 July 2025

International law firm RPC is advising Atrium and its management team on its proposed acquisition by CRC Group from investment funds managed by Stone Point Capital LLC and other investors -the transaction is expected to close in the third quarter, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

Atrium is a leading Lloyd’s managing agency underwriting a broad portfolio of property, casualty, and specialty insurance and reinsurance through Syndicate 609. The transaction will see Atrium continue to operate under its own brand and leadership, with the management team remaining in place following completion.

This transaction marks CRC Group’s first investment outside of North America and represents a significant strategic step in the growth of its global platform.

The RPC team is led by Partner and Head of Corporate Insurance James Mee, working closely with Senior Associate Xolani Ntamane, Associates Rob Eccles and Rachel Stanley, Tax Partner Ben Roberts and Tax & Incentives Senior Counsel Charles Suchett-Kaye, with support from Partner Chris Brierley.

James remarks: “We’re proud to support the team at Atrium on this significant transaction, and to work closely with them through to the deal announcement.”
