Creating events pages tips
- Enter
- Find the page you have just created
- Title = main headline on the website
- Can leave Introduction blank if you want to but suggest doing one. If you do one, copy and paste the intro into the Meta description (google description)
- Body – complete event information
- Don’t worry about any of the other elements below w/ tags etc.
- To add in the time and date info block
- RPC
- Global content
- Events
- Event template
- Right click, duplicate
- Type in name of the event
- Fill in the details (with the same name etc. as what we have used above)
- Location – copy and paste from an existing event if needs be
- Click on Time Location
- Hit Publish (top of page) // Publish item
- Prepare the above pages at the same time
- Now link them together
- On event info page, go to Event information
- Drop down box, go and find the Global content page you have set up above
- The two pages are now linked
Publishing a page:
- Go to Publish > Make sure web/pre-production are both ticked, hit publish and it will go live onto RPC's site.
- Go to Experience editor
- Can add different banners here [Natasha/Digital Marketing team will do these for now if you need different ones while you get the hang of doing events pages first]
- Hover over the Main Event Contact, Click on Lists Contact, hit more, hit browse, can change the person if we need to but will be set as the three of us as standard
- Register your interest buttons need to be hyperlinked as well. Hover over it > click more > edit component properties.
- Once opened, change the text as you'd like to (Register your interest, Register now, etc), paste in the relevant link or email address. For email address, Display text = Email and then put in Email address and subject header if relevant.
- Make sure you change both Register interest buttons (top of page and bottom of page)
- Want to send to someone to review before going live?
- Click publish
- Publish item
- Untick the Internet (web) box
- Leave the pre-production box ticked
- Hit publish
- In your email to the relevant person, type in: cms.rpc.co.uk/events/[name of event that you chose above with – as spaces]
- Example: cms.rpc.co.uk/events/london-tech-week-2023/
