Addiction Awareness: Employment Aspects

We are delighted to invite you to our upcoming seminar, "Addiction Awareness: Employment Aspects", in partnership with The Forward Trust, focusing on addiction, recovery, and their impact within the workplace.

Event date: 27 November 2025

Duration: 2.5 hours

Event time: 08:30

Event type: In-person

Provided by: RPC

We will be joined by Tony Adams MBE, Chair of Trustees at The Forward Trust and former England football captain and Jamie Stuart, Managing Director at Natwest Markets. Tony and Jamie will both share their personal journeys with addiction and recovery.

Addiction and dependency can affect anyone, often remaining hidden due to stigma. Charlotte Reid and Macaela Joyes both from RPC’s Employment, Engagement and Equality team will be providing practical guidance on responding to addiction-related issues in the workplace, including disability discrimination, reasonable adjustments, the new rules on non-financial misconduct ("NFM") and their nexus with addiction issues.

Compassionate leadership and proactive support are essential for fostering an inclusive and healthy working environment. Join us for an open discussion with legal experts and those with lived experience.

The Forward Trust (of which HRH The Princess of Wales has been Royal Patron since June 2021) is a British charity supporting people affected by drug, alcohol and gambling addiction and dependency, including employability support, and services and training for employers.

Their campaigning work includes 'Taking Action on Addiction', this year’s National Addiction Awareness Week runs 23-30 November.
