What is the reward and benefits package?

The starting salary for our solicitor apprentices is £23,000 in Bristol and £25,000 in London. Your salary will increase as you progress through the programme, and in your final two years, you will be paid the same as the trainees in your location. The firm will also provide a welcome bonus of £2,000 a few months before you join to assist with accommodation and workwear expenses.

Along with this, you will be offered a flexible and creative benefits package. We know everyone is unique, and we want our benefits to reflect that. From personal passions to family life, RPC’s package allows you to tailor your benefits to suit you. Learn more about our benefits package here.

What support will I receive during the apprenticeship?

Each apprentice is assigned a supervisor, who will be your main point of contact for all work-related matters.

To support the pastoral side of your role, you’ll also be paired with a buddy who will help you settle into the firm and provide guidance as you navigate your apprenticeship.

How much responsibility will I have?

The level of responsibility you take on will grow with you. From day one, you will be given real, meaningful work tailored to your abilities. We aim to challenge our apprentices, but you will never be asked to do more than you’re ready for. Your supervisors will guide you at each stage of your training to ensure the right balance.

How will I know how I'm progressing?

We are proud of our open and honest culture. You will receive regular, informal feedback from your supervisors, alongside formal reviews every three months. These reviews give both you and us a chance to reflect on your progress and identify ways we can support your development further.

What's the firm's dress code?

At RPC, we dress for our day, using professional judgment to choose appropriate attire. We embrace all hairstyles and religious or cultural dress. This means you might wear more traditional business attire for certain events, while dressing more casually for internal meetings or with clients who are comfortable with a relaxed dress code.

For interviews or the summer scheme, we recommend traditional business wear, although a suit is not required. If you have any questions about dress or hairstyles during the recruitment process, please contact the Early Talent team.

Do you offer work experience?

We don’t offer informal work experience. However, candidates can gain insight into the firm by applying for one of our Insight Days, or completing our virtual work experience programme.

I have more questions, is there someone I can speak to?

If you have any questions about our Early Talent opportunities please email strikinglyreal@rpclegal.com or call a member of the Early Talent team.

Will RPC provide visa sponsorship?

As an apprentice, you are employed by the firm and must therefore have the right to live and work permanently in the UK. Apprenticeships cannot be undertaken on a student visa.

Can I apply if I have a disability or require adjustments?

Yes. Our recruitment process is fully inclusive and accessible. You can request adjustments at any stage, and we’ll work with you to ensure a fair process.
