Takeda makes its 5th offer for Shire
Takeda is showing how determined it is to acquire Shire, the London-listed pharmaceutical focused on treatments for rare diseases and attention deficit disorder. Impressive that it's now made what is likely to be a winning £46 billion offer. The other suitor who sat in the wings disturbing the party for a while, Allergen Plc, have ruled themselves out of making an offer last week. Brexit is less of an issue when you have a global strategy; it's about acquiring the right target wherever it is based.
