“My approach is based on pro-actively resolving claims and disputes while seeking the best possible commercial outcome for my clients."
“I specialise in commercial insurance disputes and have acted for insurers in relation to claims brought in jurisdictions across the world, including Europe, the Americas, South Africa, and Asia Pacific.
I have a good understanding of how insurers operate commercially and what they need from their panel lawyers, having previously been seconded to the financial lines team of a global insurance company. I also have experience of defending corporate policyholders in complex litigation, so I understand the concerns and considerations of policyholders when faced with costly claims, including the often sensitive interchange between policyholder and insurer.
My approach is based on pro-actively resolving claims and disputes while seeking the best possible commercial outcome for my clients."
David’s recent work highlights:
Acting as coverage and monitoring counsel for the insurers of a global retail bank facing group actions and regulatory investigations in relation to the provision of motor finance.
Advising on various claims brought against the directors of a multinational mining company following the collapse of a dam in Brazil.
Acting for an AIM Nominated Adviser in defence of a claim brought by shareholders of an AIM-listed company.
Advising on claims brought against an asset management company by investors alleging major losses resulting from the mismanagement of an investment fund.
