A core focus of Annabella’s practice is supporting professionals and regulated businesses facing negligence and breach of duty claims, as well as regulatory and disciplinary inquiries and investigations (including from AFRC, Law Society, SFC, ICAC, IA and PCPD). She also advises on professional and financial lines risk, acting for both local Hong Kong and London market insurers and reinsurers.

Successfully defending a law firm against a negligence claim in the High Court and Court of Appeal and secured order for indemnity costs in the client's favour: Gain Global Corp Ltd v Fongs [2024] 2 HKLRD 399 (CFI); [2025] 3 HKLRD 816 (CA).

Defended a major international accountancy firm in resolving a claim of over US$1.9bn relating to alleged negligence in consecutive audits of a listed corporation with global operations.

Advised PRC insurer and international reinsurers in a CIETAC arbitration on an insurance coverage dispute worth €73m governed by PRC law.

Acting for major accounting firms in investigations commenced by the AFRC and SFC in respect of audits of listed multinational corporations, often in the aftermath of a corporate collapse, whistleblower report or short sellers' report.

Advising a law firm on breach of duties and negligence claim across multiple client matters, dealing with issues of fraud, conspiracy, adequacy of delegation and supervision of employees and accounting practices.
